Around 1998 or 1999, a friend and I were at a local coffee shop discussing how much time people waste talking about what they are going to do instead of actually doing it. We tossed around ideas on how we could get this point across and decided we would write a book. We discussed how the message should be funny and deliver a profound universal message. We titled it Ima Do. Unfortunately, we lost contact and the project fell into Ima Do’s hands. (lol) Now how ironic is that? It was just a conversation, and the concept truly is brilliant. Well, this idea haunted me for years crawling into my mind from time to time reminding me to write the story. Ima Do is a fictional character whose mind wants to progress. However she—or whoever you are—allows something or someone to always take precedence over what is most important. Therefore, I decided to breathe life into Ima Do illustrating a weeks worth of her non-productive activities just to give a visual picture of how we may be sabotaging others and ourselves. Secondly, I asked a variety of people to reveal what they vowed they would do and have not accomplished to this day. I contacted family and friends, talked with colleagues and associates, students, husbands and wives, blue-collar workers, executives and entrepreneurs for their input. I compiled and organized each comment, took them to my editor and viola! I introduce to you Ima Do, Her Tomorrow Never Comes—the little book that will affect over 7 million people in 2009-2010.
